Thoughts on the memory of Mahatma
There was a time when I was a hard-core Gandhi hater, maybe because of lack of knowledge and getting influenced by a strong wave (which is there everywhere still now) to erase him from the history. Later I started to read him, watched the film and now I know what a gem of a person he was. Getting influenced in gandhian ideologies, recently I went to my grandfather, who is in his 100th year now and was a small part of freedom struggle, and just asked him, "Was Gandhi really a good man?" "Ayyo, was that a question? He is a GREAT man, I remember us walking miles when he visited this place, just to see him once", grandfather uttered it before switching to other topic of discussion. This one sentence of Ajja gave me the entire picture of admiration and respect that his generation had for Gandhi.
